A gap of at least 18 months will give you time to recover your energy and replenish the nutrients you lost during your previous pregnancy. You'll also have time to mentally and physically prepare yourself for getting pregnant again and having a new addition to the family. However, it's up to you and your husband to work out what age gap suits your family best.

It depends on the mother's health, financial status, help, consensus of both the husband and wife, etc. I had decided that I will have a 5-year gap between my kids as I stay nuclear and wanted my older child to be independent and grown up enough to accept this new change easily.

When children have an age gap of 12 to 18 months, they tend to build a stronger bond. The first one is too young to understand the sense of jealousy. The two become playmates.

It is recommendable that the gap should 2-3 yrs as per gynecologist. This 2-3 yrs gap becoz of the second baby should be healthy. That's it :)
