Kids can't really express their anger in the most constructive ways possible. Us adults don't throw temper tantrums, per se. But, we do get frustrated over a lot of the same things. First of all, with your three year old, you should work to calm her down and find out the source of the problem. Don't give in to her tantrum and fuel or empower it, but find the source. As I mentioned, kids are throwing these tantrums for al of the same reasons an adult would be frustrated. For example, hunger, tiredness, stress, etc. Calm them down and try to assuage their problems. Also, try to make sure you aren't giving them a pay-off for their behavior. While you want to fix the problem, don't validate their behavior by rewarding them. WHen they;re calm, you can settle the problem.
