What would you prefer for your toddler? A progressive type of education or a montessori-based one?

From what I understand, Montessori is under the progressive type of school. Other kinds under the progressive category are Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, John Dewey, Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences (M.I.) and those schools with a mixture of different progressive approaches. Personally, I am leaning towards Montessori as it trains the child to be independent.
