What's a good first car for a small family living in Manila?

I think it would be best if you go with a bigger car even if you only have a small family Just because you live in Manila could always mean you are prone to troubles like flood which is very inevitable and happens more than once a year. Better be safe than be stuck? Some examples can be Toyota Innova or Toyota Adventure. Heard from my friend that it's very spacious and can go distant miles if you're also thinking about an out of town trip to have bonding. But it would really be up to you as of course there would still be things to factor in when purchasing a car like your budget, your brand preference etc.

Apart from the ones mentioned above, Ford Fiesta, Honda Jazz, Mazda 2, Kia Picanto, Hyundai Accent are good options. We have Hyundai Accent and Getz. Both are fuel-efficient, maintenance isn't that as high compared to other brands and they still function normally until now. They also come in relatively lower price compared to other models.

Honda City is a great option. it's fuel efficient, and designed with city living in mind...as you can imagine (given the name!). It's a four door, and can comfortably seat a family of 3, 4, or even 5. Most importantly, it's safe, and not wildly expensive.

We're considering Toyota Avanza as it's price range isn't that far with other car prices. It can sit around 7 persons so it's perfect for a growing family. The back seats can also be folded if we need more room for our things.

Toyota Vios is a great car to invest in when your starting off ;)
