Will watching Tv too closely to the television screen cause bad eyesight?

Personally, I don't think there is a correlation between sitting too near the screen and it resulting in having bad eyesight. That being said, I think it is uncomfortable for the eyes (e.g., the glare from the screen) to be too near a screen. I have also read that when a child constantly sits near the tv screen, it may be a sign that his/her eyesight may be affected (hence the need to be near the screen). In all, it is always good to maintain a good distance to avoid over straining the eyes. Also, always take frequent breaks to help maintain good eyesight. Look at objects in a distance once every 20mins (perhaps something outside the window) would be good for resting the eyes.
