I think with proper care and safety then it is okay to use it. My lo is just 7 months and we started using the walker when he was 5 mos old of course with extra supervision, now he is 7 months and I can say that it helped him.developed his balancing and leg support coz he can pull his body up and stand on his own when he is out of the walker. It is just a matter of how you make sure the baby is safe and secure when using the walker
