Any thoughts? Is it good? Is 3 years too young to enroll?

About the right age to start learning to play the violin - your child needs to do 3 basic things. 1) Coordination - she needs to possess the necessary dexterity to play the violin. I think the children achieve it anytime after the age of 2. 2) Follow instructions - playing the violin would require understanding slightly complex instructions, many times, 2-5 set of manoeuvres to play a note. If the child is unable to do that, it might become frustrating and the child might give up on the instrument. 3) Practice - in most cases of child prodigies, the parents are equally committed towards the education. Tiger mom is not really an exaggeration. If you feel that both of you are ready, please go ahead! The best thing to do is to test waters. try out a few lessons before purchasing a violin and being committed. If she fancies it, she would be ready. About the academy, it seems popular. So a good choice I believe. Best ask them if they have any prior experience of teaching young kids. Hope this helps.
