My one month old wouldn't stop crying all night all of a sudden.

So all of a sudden, bigla na lang nagkaron ng discomfort ang baby namin one night. Medyo mababaw ang tulog niya during the day, then kinagabihan, still, medyo umiiyak siya kapag dumedede. Until, around 2am, iyak na siya nang iyak and medyo lumalakas na. Now, we suspect baka dahil hindi pa siya nakakadumi for almost 2 days. Although upon Pedia's advice, it's normal for a new born not to poop (pure breastfeeding) for even up to 7 days. Pero, nung 2am naman, during umiiyak siya, nagpoop siya and medyo marami than usual. After that iyak pa rin siya nang iyak until morning. Pag dumedede, umiiyak pa rin. Is this normal for a month old? I read about colic crying as well which is I guess normal for a month old baby until 3 months. But that's only according to my shallow research. (Google google lang). Should we worry? When should we bring her to the hospital. Wala rin namang lagnat si baby. As in parang discomfort lang talaga. Pero since we don't know what's causing her pain/discomfort, we don't know what to do. PS. Currently, she's asleep while naka-latch sa mom niya. She might cry hard again when she wakes up. Worried lang.

Hello. Since EBF (Exclusive Breastfeeding) it’s unlikely na magkacolic siya. I would assume na baka she’s going through growth spurt or change in sleeping patterns. For growth spurts, give comfort lang, carrying, BF (Breastfeeding). For change in sleeping pattern, my advice is to introduce day and night. Sa pag introduce, besides sunbathing, make sure to make the room/place bright by opening curtains or lights. Tapos (optional) bring baby outside of the house for a while. Don’t force baby to sleep, when she’s awake entertain her by reading, talking or singing to her, dancing by swaying her side-to-side, play using rattles toys etc. As soon as it gets dark or the sun is about to set, make sure to make the room/place dim, this will make surroundings boring and encourage sleep hormones. But because you’re going to introduce it the first time expect that it won’t work right away, esp if sha has been sleeping all day. So when she’s awake and fussy in the first, second, third night, just entertain her (with the examples I’ve given) while keeping the room dim. While introducing day and night, it also best to include a morning and bedtime to routine. Example, in morning - opening the curtains, sunbathing, bath etc. On bedtime, dimming the room, wiping her clean and change her clothes, then hele while BF to encourage sleep hormones. That’s all, hope it helps.

If hindi niyo po marule out ang colic, to avoid colic is to, burp every after feeding (but our previous Pedia says this is unnecessary since EBF, but I did it anyway just to be sure) and keep the baby upright for 15-30 mins, wag po pahigain kaagad after BF, and si mommy dapat healthy food intakes parin. It’s normal po talaga sa EBF na hindi mag poop, my previous Pedia said may iba umaabot pa 2 weeks no poop, sa daughter ko 1 week no poop. Kasi besides growth spurt, breast milk has also something to do with it, kasi breast milk is easier to digest kaya when the baby’s body needs more milk for growing (growth spurt) nauubos na siya at konti na lang natitira para maging poop. But whether baby is BF or taking FM, it’s still normal that as they grow they poop less frequently. Welcome po.
