just started weaning my baby. started with potato and carrots. she liked the potatoes but I think she doesn't like the carrots cause she makes a face and sometimes gags it out. is it cause the taste is very raw? I steam both for 15mins then puree. there's still a "raw" vegetable taste to it.

Steam is the best way to keep the nutrients. Our taste bud is different from babies. Babies taste buds are more sensitive. If baby does not like the carrots the first time. It is okay. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries before baby or even kids will take to the taste. If your baby does not take it well the first time it does not mean that baby doesn't like the taste. Don't give up, keep encouraging baby to try new food. In fact, carrots are sweet. This may help http://www.babycenter.com/404_how-can-i-encourage-my-baby-to-try-new-foods_1963.bc

You can try mixing carrots with a "sweeter" vegetable like sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes and carrots are a popular puree choice for beginners.
