Consider Joie Every Stage. $400 from Takashimaya and Robinsons. Can rear face newborn to 18kg, front face to 36kg. It has a relatively high rear facing weight limit at an affordable price. Can use for your next baby also. I have the older Joie Stages. It's much safer for young children to rear face. 5 times less likely to be seriously injured after a crash when rear facing as compared to front facing. Recommendation is to rear face to minimum 2 years old, ideally to 4 years old (they do that in Sweden). If you aren't convinced, look at how the front facing kid's neck is bent suddenly during a crash as compared to the rear facing kid: https://youtu.be/fKIeExpDLDA
For online stores, Britax and Lazada are good places to buy strollers and car seats. http://www.britax.com.sg/ http://www.lazada.com.sg If you are not comfortable with online stores and rather see the product itself, you can try Baby Hyperstore at 69 Kaki Bukit Avenue 1 Shun Li Industrial Park Singapore 417947. They have a pretty good selection of baby car seats. I was there to get a combined present for a friend's baby shower and the prices were not too bad. Sometimes they have flash sales and you can get things really cheap. Here's the FB link so that you can be alerted to such sales. https://www.facebook.com/Babyhyperstore/?fref=ts

We bought Ailebebe from a recent baby fair. It's a Japan brand. I think it's a good buy cos baby seem to like it and don't feel so hot when sitting on it. My baby is around 9.5kg :)
We bought the britax from Mothercare
