Is it normal to have very small blood spotting once a while (few weeks once) in early second trimester?

hey! i'm kinda having it now, and i'm 17 weeks 1 day to be exact. i actually worries and surprised, but it appears to be very small 3 spots... have you met your gynae? what was the possible reason? thanks!
