Drooling and teething in 3 month old

My son is 3 months old and wants to put everything in his mouth! He's also drooling all the time. Could this be teething? Should I be giving him teething gel/ teething powder to ease the pain?

There are natural remedies for easing baby's teething pain. One of them is teething necklaces. Myself and some friends used it when baby is teething and can see the good results. http://sg.theasianparent.com/baltic-teething-remedy-amber-teething-necklace/ There are two types of teething necklaces: Amber Teething necklace and Hazelwood Teething. The main difference between the two is the type of materials used. The one I used was Amber Teething necklace which has anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties. If you feel uncomfortable to let baby to wear the necklace on neck (choking hazard), you can wear it on other place as long as directly on the baby's skin e.g. ankle. In addition, you can do baby massage for teething. Example of teething massage can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvLU-lIwUHs Also, you can try to offer teething biscuits such as teething rusk from Heinz/Only Organic.

While teething is not likely, it is possible - some babies even have teeth as soon as they are born! A simple check could just be using a soft washcloth to cover your fingers and gently run it against the front of his gums - if it's teething, it may be a little hard or have tiny white bumps coming out. However, it's likely just a natural thing - while adults use our five senses to explore things, babies use their mouths because their eyesight isn't very good at that age yet. They put things into their mouth to determine whether it's safe - for example, things that are sharp will hurt them so they know it's not safe, while things that do not taste nice tells them they probably shouldn't try to eat it :)

It is most unlikely that your son is teething as kids start teething around 7-8 months. Babies tend to put everything in their mouth as a natural reflex. I do not think you need to worry too much.

You can try getting a teether and see if it helps to ease him from the pain. They generally just need something cooling to chew on it.

No it cant be teething cause its so early. But dont worry in this age it happen. Put mittens on his hands and legs too.

Although it is rare, it is not unusual for babies to teeth at three months. Have you checked with your doc?

thanks

Teething usually occurs at 5 or 6 months
