My son is 11 months old and is on 4 milk feeds and 3 meals. Should I be trying to reduce his milk intake and increase the amount of solids he eats as he nears the 1 year mark? How much milk should a 1 year old be consuming?

A one year old can have all the milk in the world if he wants. I also asked this question from my child's doctor years ago and he replied that there is no upper limit as such. Babies should be having a minimum of 3 tall glasses of milk a day for the daily calcium intake. More than that also is okay as these are the years when their bones are growing.

Children at the age of 1 should drink about 2 to 2.5 cups of cow's milk per day to get enough calcium and Vitamin D. Offering more than 3 cups of milk per day may mean she will not have space in her tummy for other foods. http://www.babycenter.com/0_cows-milk-when-and-how-to-introduce-it_1334703.bc
