My parents are very conservative, they always ask me to give my baby water after breast feeding. How should i explain to them or should i follow their advice?

The World Health Organisation strongly advises against feeding water to young babies below the age of 6 months as it puts them at a risk of diarrhoea and malnutrition (water has 0 calories). Breastmilk (especially foremilk) is more than 80% water. Babies do not require water even in countries with warmer climates, like ours. http://www.who.int/features/qa/breastfeeding/en/
