My newborn sleeps continuously up to 4 hrs with out any feed, should I wake him up in between for feeds?

You generally do not have to wake babies for feeds, because most will wake on their own. If you notice that baby is sleeping for longer stretches during the day, then you can wake them up in the day, so they don't get night and day mixed up. Most experts do not recommend waking babies for night time feedings, because you want them to sleep. If they are sleeping more in the day than the night, they suggest waking them so they don't go more than 4 hours without eating. When my baby is still a newborn, he wakes up on the dot every 4 hours then slowly as he gets older, he drinks every 2 hours as I am feeding on demand.
