1st trimester ultrasound

My first pre natal visit accdg to my lmp was 6w. My ultrasound shows 5w and 2d with mds 9.8mm and no visible yolk sac. My dr suggest to do another scan in 2 weeks. Is it too early? Anyone had the same experience? Please help
