How old is your child? I think delayed tooth loss is nothing to be too worried about. My niece, who's 8 now, took some time to lose her baby teeth but she did so eventually at the age of 6. It really varies for different children. Such inactivity is unexpected by parents but completely normal. Most dentist will not worry about delayed tooth loss unless they find the following complications: 1) the retained primary teeth are causing problems for the incoming permanent ones 2) the molars are already erupted, 3) the delayed tooth loss will cause orthodontic treatment to be started at an awkward age.

If you're really worried about it, talk to your child's dentist but best to just let it run its course. Hope this article helps: http://www.mytooth.net/general-dental-information/late-tooth-loss-in-children/ It says that the max age for losing baby teeth is 13 years old.

Kids start losing teeth when they are 6 and lose about 8 teeth (8 front top and bottom) in the 1st 2 years. There's then a 'break' of two years and teeth start loosening and falling out again at 10. So perhaps your kid is at the 8 year mark and his teeth are taking a 'break'!
