Do any of you mummies/daddies ground your kids? And in what kind of ways?

I started getting grounded when I was in my early teens (12 onwards) only because I started getting rebellious then. I was not allowed to go out to meet friends and had to go home straight after school. It was horrible because back then, there was no cellphones and access to internet was scarce. When one got grounded, it was pretty much the end of the world :(

I try not to be too harsh on my kids - I mean, kids are kids. But when they do something majorly wrong or unacceptable then the most I have done is to make them stay in their room for an hour (to think over what they've done). My husband has taken away their iPad and iPhones for a full week as a way of grounding them.
