working mums
Hi mummies. Can u share how u cope with work and your LO after your Maternity leave? And who helps you to look after? Also which is a better choice? Maid, Babysitter or infant care?
The pumping at work took a while to get used to. I also had to rush down to pick up my lo in infant care after work and to bath her immediately when I reached home. She took a while to get used to infant care too. I chose to put my lo in infant care after weighing all the options. She can get to socialise and play more in infant care than at home (if it’s with a helper or grandparents who will be busy with other stuff). The downside is the falling sick part. I was heartbroken but I see it as part and parcel of building a stronger immunity.
Read moreCurrently helper is taking care of lo while I wfh. Will place baby in infant care in September as they only have vacancy then. Prefer infant care due to activities they have and they have trained teachers taking care of baby. I do not have anyone at home to eye on helper when I go back to office.
Pumped 3 times at work but had very accommodating colleagues so it was ok easing back into work. Also sent baby to infant care because i do think its better for their growth and development. The only worry is baby falling sick often but she hasn't so far 🙏
Infant care is better in my opinion. If you're afraid he will fall sick regularly, direct breastfeeding him when you're home. Your body will make the antibodies that he need to fight the germs in the infant care center during latching.
I had returned to work, and sent baby to infant care. Dad will drop her off at infant care whereas I will pick her up and take care of her till she sleeps.
After returning to work both me and my husband divide the responsibilities among each other and we have a baby sitter at home :)
