How to encourage bb to follow instruction like waving and clapping

Hi mummies, I need some advice please. I’ve noticed that my son can wave and clap on his own randomly. And he likes to wave to mirror. But whenever I ask him to wave—like to his dad—he won’t do it. Even when I clap and ask him to clap along with me, he does not do it too. Has anyone else experienced this with their baby? Please share how you encouraged your little one to follow simple instructions. My son is due for his 1-year milestone check soon, and I’m feeling a bit anxious.
