Breast pump before or after birth?

Hi mummies, is it advisable to wait till after birth to get a breast pump?

I was advised to buy after birth in case i can't bf for whatever reasons.. Also knew ppl who bought before but end up nv use cuz cannot bf

For me, breast pump before birth, flange inserts after birth.
