My one-month old baby's umbilical stump has still not dried and it looks a little red. Any other mom faced this problem?

Dear mom, without trying to scare you, I would suggest you get your baby's umbilical cord area examined by a doctor. If you can see any redness around the area, it may point towards some sort of infection, so make sure you make an urgent appointment to help treat if required. In typical cases, the umbilical cord in a baby dries off within two to three weeks after birth, or latest by a month, by when it falls off. You may feel compelled to help it dry, but please do not do so, as it could lead to infection.

yes pls see a doctor, he'll be able to precise some antiseptic powder to apply ard that area to prevent infection. my lo's dropped off ard 7 wk though. in fact I accidentally hit it and it fell off. thankfully it's ok.
