Hi mommy. Unfortunately, it's usually our well-intentioned but misinformed loved ones ang unang nagdi-discourage sa atin para i-exclusive breastfeed ang ating mga anak π
Anyways, not recommended po sana ang magpump 6 weeks post-partum due to prone sa oversupply and mastitis (unstable pa kasi milk supply natin during this time). Pero kung hindi na rin pala makaka-unlilatch si baby dahil you need to work, then I guess it can't be helped. Hindi naman po mawawala o hihina ang milk supply nyo kapag nagpump kayo, but you do need to pump on regular intervals kapag hindi kayo magkasama ni baby. Dapat at least every 3 hrs ay magpump kayo to signal your body that it needs to produce milk. Based on Supply and Demand po ang kasi ang milk production natin, so our body produces the amount of milk that is being drained/ consumed from it. Kaya humihina ang milk supply natin kapag nagbigay na ng formula milk kasi let's say you give 2oz of fm to baby, then that's 2oz less of bm na hindi na nya ico-consume and therefore hindi na ipoproduce ng katawan natin.
Tama rin po na not recommended ang paggamit ng bottles and artifical nipples para maiwasan ang nipple confusion. Cupfeeding po ang recommended but this would require lots of patience and support sa maiiwang tagapag-alaga ni baby. Kung sa parents nyo po maiiwan si baby, at hindi sila supportive to EBF your baby ay mukhang magiging extra challenging po ito para gusto nyo.
