Taking NIPT test
Hello mommies does anyone here tried or plan to have an NIPT test? I have a schedule next month, we avail it to know the gender as early and make sure no abnormalities found on the baby never heard any history on my family about downsyndrom and now felt scared on the result asking my self again is it right to take it.. and then what will happened next.. how did you feel mommies? Will you rather try it or not?
I did NIPT after my FTS, as it shown that my baby risk of Down syndrome is on the higher side. Did it without much thinking as it was advised by gynae, but after that i was anxious for the whole 10 days while waiting for the result. Luckily results comes back ok. Thinking back, it is actually not necessary to do NiPT because no matter what we will still keep the baby. So if you’re sure you will keep the baby, I think NIPT is not necessary.
Read moreI have no family history of having down syndrome and I’m 30 yo this year. I took NIPT back in May to ensure my baby is fine and to know my baby gender earlier. I didn’t go for Oscar test Cus I read the reviews of the inaccuracies of Oscar test result and idw to make myself paranoid Cus of the result then take the test again.
Read moreIf you are keeping baby no matter what’s the result. Don’t do it If you are making a decision based on the result, do it. For me, I took because I want to know if there’s adnormality. There’s not right or wrong decision. It’s personal preference
Can try to take Oscar or FTS if cost is an issue. It depends if you’re pro life or pro choice. If your family is pro life, and that you’ll give birth to this child no matter what, then maybe no point in doing the test.
We took a comprehensive nipt test previously as it is our first child. Husband was open to spend the money to do this check. I was also worried about the results but luckily came back okay.
I’m doing my NIPT test next week too, advised by my gynae as i’m above 35 years old. I’m terrified but still think it’s best to find out if baby is healthy.
I did nipt so that in the event if there's a risk, we get to know earlier and can read up more on how to handle and prepare mentally
