Just took a pregnancy test and it's positive! Yay! Should I start prenatal vitamins and folic acid? Where to buy? how much? When should I go to the Dr? By my calculation I must be in week 4 right now.
Congratulations Mummy! Have you decided on a gynecologist already? You should decide on a gynae and schedule an appointment to see them first. They will also prescribe you with the health supplements you need. Some gynae may ask you to come when you are in your 6 - 8 weeks as the heartbeat of the fetus will be detectable by then but if you prefer, you can tell them you like to see them now.
Read morehi I'm 5 months pregnant so the doc gave me those pills to help the baby grow,I drink them at night because if I drink them in the morning I vomitt them out...but even if I drink them at but I was wake up in the morning nd vomitt.....is it normal or I have a problem?
Congratulations! You can purchase folic acid from any pharmacy in Singapore. It is okay to start taking folic acid even without a doctor's approval. You can visit a gynae around week 6 or 8 to confirm the presence of a sac and fetus through ultrasound.
Congratulations! I get my prenatals from Wal-Mart, i get the ones that have folic acid in them :) around where i live, they dont schedule your first appointment u til around 12 weeks. but you can definitely go ahead and call to schedule an appointment :)
Folic acid can be bought over the counter as for my other prenatal vitamins I got from my doctor. The first appointment should be around 6 weeks so you can probably get from the gynae when you do your visit. Folic acid should cost about $15.

I only take New Obimin or Iberet Folic 500. And because my HG is low, I probably need to continue until I give birth, just to be safe.
