Why not? My girl is 2 months old and I've been reading to her ever since she was born. Your baby has been hearing your voice ever since she/he was in the womb and even if she/he does not understand the meaning of the words, the baby will be comforted by your voice and it will form the base for healthy mother-child bonding. :D I say do it! http://sg.theasianparent.com/importance_of_reading_to_baby/

Definitely ! One should read bedtime stories to your newborn.. Many mums even do it during pregnancy. If you are doing it during pregnancy this helps your baby recognize your voice. When you read stories to your newborn, your LO recognizes your voice. This will definitely calm your LO. It is also said that this helps in developing the overall intelligence of the child (I am not sure how)

Reading is bonding and soothing! It also prepares them to read on their own. Little ones are exposed to words and emotions as well as visuals and are a great boost to their brains. Reading to them lets them know that reading is fun too! http://www.parents.com/baby/development/intellectual/benefits-of-reading-to-your-newborn/
