Is it true that using the automatic swinging yao lan (sarong) can cause damage to the baby brain due to constant swinging motion?
Heard some people mention this and something about their sprain before. But personally felt that it's not; both my sons slept in automatic Yao Lan with no issues. However you might wana take some safety precaution like a mattress underneath the sarong, ensure that the safety rope is secured and etc.

I use the traditional one and i swing it myself. I prefer the old type. Swing slowly and pat pat his butt. Love it.

Will not cause brain damage but might have adverse effect on the spine. Also if the baby is used to the yaolan swinging effect he might have a hard time adjusting to a normal bed. And if going overseas etc where there is no yaolan then the parents are gonna have a really hard time

I'm using the auto during the day. my girl prefers low but my boy prefer medium. normally they can only sleep for an hour before waking up. Night time my babies don't like it, they prefer cuddle with me to sleep
My 2 kids sleep in automatic yaolan but once they are sound asleep I will off it. Any they are only using it during the day to enable them to sleep better as daytime surrounding are noisier.
actually prevention is the best part as we know kids will tend to get down from it and we never know weather the yoalan is moving at that time too.
I think not true? my all 4 children using them. We're not shaking them hard so i guess it's very safe for their brain.
All my 4 kids has slept in Yao lan with no issue . In fact I also slept in yao Lan when I was a baby!
