Your period cramps lessening is a well-known phenomenon, but no one knows for sure why it occurs. The number of painful cramps occurring may reduce and some lucky women even find that menstrual pain ceases altogether after pregnancy and childbirth. Despite no actual scientific data, there is this one theory that sounds plausible. Childbirth eliminates some of the prostaglandin receptor sites in the uterus. Prostaglandins, hormones that direct the uterus to contract during labour, also play a role in monthly menstrual pain. After giving birth, since some of these prostaglandin receptor sites have been eliminated, there will fewer pain-receptor sites and this means one magical thing: Fewer cramps! http://www.parents.com/pregnancy/my-body/changing/benefits-of-pregnancy/
