There are studies about the potential harm from microwave radiation (MWR) given off by wireless devices, particularly affecting children and unborn babies, one of them by L. Lloyd Morgan, senior science fellow at Environmental Health Trust, and colleagues. Although the data are conflicting, links between MWR and cancer have been observed. According to this review, children and unborn babies do face a greater risk for bodily damage that results from MWR given off by wireless devices like mobile phones and tablets. This is because the rate of MWR absorption is higher in children than adults due to their brain tissues being more absorbent, their thinner skulls and their smaller relative size. The report also mentions that foetuses are especially vulnerable, because MWR exposure can lead to degeneration of the protective sheath that surrounds brain neurons. Wasn't there a campaign recently launched in Singapore about fertility and one of the ads included warning men against placing their laptops on their laps because it can lead to infertility? I'd imagine it works the same way with the MWR and unborn babies. http://www.m.webmd.com/children/news/20140819/children-cell-phones

It's a dilemma. There is no research that proves about the adverse effects of cell phone in short term. The issue is cell phones were not big until a decade ago so there is no longitudinal data available yet about long term risks. I personally would worry about the time a kid is exposed to such radiations and try to limit it until I am absolutely sure that there are no risks. Once kid grows up enough to understand these things, will let him decide. Would really want to know what others think on this..
