insomnia during pregnancy

I'm in my 1st trimester but I've been having insomnia every day and only get minimal amount of sleep every day compared to before I was pregnant. Anyone faced the same issue and what did you do? Its gonna affect my work performance and I am not planning to tell my boss till 2nd trimester. It's so tough. Past few days been listening to rain sounds to help me sleep but this particular night it is not working for me I've been trying to get in bed for 4 hours now tossing and turning and I have work in a few hours I'm so frustrated.

My friend faces the same problem as you. When she was pregnant she will automatically wakeup at 2-3am and just can't get to sleep. She couldn't explain why as well. Maybe getting a head massage (only head coz you can't massage after your 1st trimester) will help. Essential oil like lavender to scent your room. Temperature of the room to be at 23 to 24, as the weather is so hot recently, my normal temperature in the room couldn't satisfy me too. What I'm trying to say is temperature makes a difference too. Also monitor your diet, avoid caffeine or sugary food or drinks. Your body gets more sensitive to these when you are pregnant. If you are blessed with leave, maybe can clear leave and go for a holiday to relax yourself too. Most importantly, you are not the only one facing this problem. Stay positive. Later before work get a normal chicken essence. :)

:) no problem. Hope you have a deep sleep soon. My sugar tolerance changed too after I'm pregnant. Its like a total new body to adapt to. 😊
