When I went for my 36 weeks visit, my baby was 1.7Kg, my doctor was real angry. My baby was on small side, but from week 34-36 my baby didn’t grow at all. My diet was okay during that time. My doctor told me he doesn’t care what I do he wanted my baby’s weight up. He told me protein is the solution, I can take any form of it. He offered me HL, he said my focus should be on baby. I was sad, I asked around. Luckly it was Durian season(pls note I didn’t have diabetes issue), and I ate 1 box durian everyday for the next week plus, 1 chicken breast daily. Then in 1 week we managed to bring up the babies weight above 2Kg. I continued with chicken breast daily till week 40. My doctor asked me to induce at W40D1 as he suspected that placenta was not supporting my baby. End of the story he was born at Week 40 Day 2 at 2.49Kg. They kept him in NICU as they wanted to monitor due to low weight gain. He was fine and healthy, except that he was a tall skinny baby 😅

I'm 35 + 5 today. I went for my scan 3 days ago. My baby is 2.3kg. My gynae says everything is good. It's not a concern for her weight as he checked my blood flow and it's OK. But I'm also advised to induce at week 38 due to gestational diabetes to reduce the risk of stillbirth. Somehow I was feeling very upset that day as I was worried about getting induced. I consoled myself that I will be able to see my daughter sooner and not worry about stillbirth too. So if your baby is coming out earlier, it may be a good thing as she will get the nutrients she need outside since she is not getting enough inside your tummy.

My gynae suspected my placenta was ageing too due to my bb’s weight! I was scared and worried but I listened to my gynae as I feel that she knows best. I too told myself being induced also means that I can meet my bb earlier!!! Anw, my bb was born healthy and well!!! She’s now a happy, healthy bb. She also gained a lot of weight already!! Don’t worry too much. I hope everything goes well for you and your bb. All the best and take care :-)

She discovered about same time as you haha, almost 36 weeks. I delivered a day before week 38. Born 2.4kg!

Hi i gv birth at 37 weeks, baby weight was 2.2kg. doctor said she is on the smaller side. Bt dont worry, with constant feeding every 3 hours your baby's weight will strt to increase. Everything will be fine:) i was not induced. natural birth w epidural

“The” placenta, not “your” placenta. Hope it helps to lift the feeling of guilt, if there’s any. Trust your gynae. I had a c section at 37 week due to my gynae’s availability 🫣 My 20mo is healthy and happy :)

Induce to reduce chances of still birth
