Can KKH subsidised choose Ward A for delivery?

I'm currently under KKH subsidised but hubs & I are thinking of going for ward A during delivery as the subsidised wards start from 4 or 5 bedder only. Has anyone done that before? Is it worth it?

You can change to ward A but you will be charge as a private patient and pay private fees. If you can afford to pay more, fork out cash for the deposit, then okay lor. To me not worth it bcs we wont be staying so long in the hospital anyway

Yes I did that. But all the fees are charged as private patient. And I couldn’t choose a gynae because most gynae are full already. So I kinda think it’s not worth it

My own thoughts as I also thinking same issue. If gonna do c sec I think maybe prefer ward A. But if plan natural birth, likely will only stay 2 nights so not necessarily need ward A. B1 have 4 beds, also quite comfortable. I think ward B, baby won’t sleep whole night with you.

If u prefer to have private room then worth it lor
