It’s best to follow the baby’s cues. If the baby wants to sit up and can do so on his or her own or with some help, it’s not an issue. The key is not to force the baby and let his or her muscles develop stronger before trying again.

Mine could sit with support, and at 5.5 months she could sit unsupported for a few seconds. But every baby’s different. Haha. My elder daughter took longer. Maybe 6-7 months before she could sit unsupported.

My 4.5 month old can sit up with support, so like against my tummy or my leg. Neck and back straight line. I think all babies are different, don't need to worry unless your doctor is concerned.

My baby was trained by the infant care centre to sit straight unsupported at about 5 months plus..he was unable to crawl then,so I was quite surprised he could sit so straight for a few minutes

Unlikely. 5 months should be flipping over from back to front and front to back. Sitting up usually after 7 months

Babies usually learn to sit independently between the ages of 4 and 7 months.

mine 5 month still can’t. depend on baby. they will eventually sit up no rush

Can but depends. Each baby’s development is different.
