I am now in my second trimester. encountered red scratches at my hip areas (upper part of my thighs) on each side. Is this normal and caused by stretch marks? Can I apply anything or just let it heal on its own?

I used normal Palmer's cocoa butter when I was pregnant, but I totally recommend Bio Oil! (still love using it now even thought my marks are barely visible anymore) You can get at Watson's: http://bit.ly/2fBvoCc When I was pregnant, my stretch marks were reddish/ purplish? And I only focus on the parts I thought were obvious or were showing (eg: front of my belly and not sides) This is not advisable cos any skin that experiencing stretching, when bouncing back, will show stretch marks. So rub oil on any part that stretches. Other tips: https://sg.theasianparent.com/get-rid-of-stretch-marks-in-six-simple-steps/

They are stretch marks. Moisturizer lots - 3 times a day with anything u can use - but choose the thicker kind that are cream or oil - lotions not moisturizing enough. U can also exfoliate then moisturise. That said, stretch marks are hereditary somewhat so if ur mum or sisters have it, likely u will have it too
