Hi, I just had my 20 week scan ytd. And my gynae said I have low placenta. He said to refrain from sex and to see him if there's any bleeding. The report stated: posterior lying low, reaching os. Maturity grade 0. I'm abit worried. I had a c-sect during my 1st pregnancy & I read up that it's 50% for the placenta to move up. Anything else that I need to take note of? Anyone experience this be4? Any advise? Thx!

Hi many women has low placenta and gave birth successfully so don't worry. Take precautions not to walk too much, don't carry heavy things, don't squat, no sex and no vigorous exercise . It may go away by third trimester. Rest as much as possible and try to sit or lie down whenever you can. Have faith in you and your baby!

My friend had low placenta too. Her baby was big and pushing it down. Gynae told her no intimacy too often as it might resulted in baby distress. She was put on bed rest most of the time as she walked too much and had bleeding. She took plenty of rest with the support of hub and mil and delivered normally at 38 wk.

I was told that I had low placenta during my week 20 scan. I'm not sure if it was borderline low but my gynae told me usually it will go up in 3rd trimester and don't worry too much. True enough it went up in my 3rd trimester. I did refrain myself from too much movements and carrying heavy items.
