I found it excruciatingly painful to breastfeed my baby even though three lactation consultants told me I was doing everything right and my baby was latching on correctly. After a few weeks of crying more than my infant, I finally switched to formula. But now I'm consumed with guilt. Everywhere I look, even on formula packages, breastfeeding is touted as best. How can I make peace with my decision?

I think a happy mummy is very important too. As much as breastfeeding is best for baby, many of us have all grown up on formula (me included) and I think I turned out really fine. :) Step back and take a look at the whole picture. A depressed, stressed out and in pain mummy is not a good picture at all. Your baby will be fine on formula milk. You have tried your best right? So as long as you have really given your best, make peace with yourself. Your baby needs a happy loving mummy. Take care.
