Attend wedding

Hello! My husband’s cousin is getting married in June, and now I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant. We were told by the Chinese wedding shop owner not to attend any wedding as they afraid it clash 囍冲囍 especially because I got pregnant just before my wedding two months ago so is like 囍囍冲囍 。 I only heard about can’t attend funeral 红白相冲 but not for wedding. Do we really have to follow the elderly saying? Anyone experiencing the same before? Thank you!
