it depends on the temperament of your dog & your baby! For my case; my dog is simply excited but very friendly, my baby is turning 6’m and have been giggling and smiling whenever she sees him! So i let her touch, and let my dog smell & lick under my supervision. (Just in case my dog got too excited) I find that its a good way to teach baby empathy towards animals, to love and care, and also to let her feel what the furs feels like! They def enjoy each others’ company!

I live in Sweden currently and I've seen families who have no qualms about having their pets interact with their babies even at a young age. The dog or cat seem to know that the baby is a combination of its owners and welcome the baby happily. It depends on the dog and his/her temperament. Do it slowly, be cautious as your dog will be curious and at time jealous. As a rule of thumb, never leave baby alone with your pet.

I don't care actually. They've been interacting since birth. As long as the dog is kept clean and not suffering from any diseases or infection.
