How can you keep your child busy on a train journey?

Take lots of comics or the books of her choice to read. Take board games if the child is old enough to play them. Sing songs, play antakshari with them again if the child is slightly older. You can give some leeway for gadgets during the journey by allowing him to play some games or listen to songs in the mobile or tablet.

Books and comics are good. You can carry small puzzle books as well. It will keep them productively occupied for a reasonable lenght of time. I remember my father used to play mental games with us....addition and subtraction and ' I spy with my eye'. Alltime favourites such as Antakshari never go out of style.
