How do I choose between a sling, hip carrier and a baby carrier? Which one is best?

The answer to this is highly individual. Consider your baby’s age in determining how to best carry her. Things you should consider are: - Do you prefer the versatility of wraps, or the convenience of SSCs? - Does your baby sweat a lot? Thicker materials may be out of the running. - What’s your price range? Wraps (woven and stretchy), ring slings, and correctly-sized Mei Tais are recommended for babies who do not have proper neck control and can’t sit up yet. Hipseats are not recommended for babies and toddlers who cannot walk steadily yet, as they do not support your baby’s developing spine.

Hip carriers are not ergonomic. A sling is ergonomic, but the weight is on one shoulder so if your baby is heavy, it might strain your shoulder. I have a soft structured carrier. There are many brands, and a popular brand is Tula.
