Child lying

Find the reason why lo is lying.. Sometimes its out of fear that you will be angry. Do assure that u will be angry for the action they do but will be happy if they are truthful and disappointed if they lied. Let them know how u would feel for them to empathise. If dun work switch roles with lo let them answer if they would be happy or not if they lied.

Find out why they had to lie. Sometimes they lied out of fear. Sometimes its because they see adults lying and think its ok. Sometimes they see adults who do not keep their promises (in a way lied)...so when the underlying problem is known then you can apply the necessary action accordingly...

Have a good talk with your child. Do find out why you child lied, was it because he or she was afraid etc. Relate true stories to him, the consequences of lying etc

Reason with him, tell him it’s wrong to lie and he will be punished if he does it again. Light punishment is necessary.

Tell them that it is not right to lie, and asked them how would they feel if you(the parents) were to lie to him/her

Ask them why they are lying, and have to talk to them patiently
