How can a dad prepare himself financially for the new baby to come? Is there a time that he will know he is ready to be a dad, and fund this new child?

For the men they will never be ready until reality has hit. My husband had decided he wanted to be a dad even before we got married but financially I did not feel like he was doing anything special for that thought. It was only until I was pregnant that he became more cautious in his spending. We're lucky to have medisave as a safety net. And a very good infrastructure for transport and wireless technology. Anytime you need to buy anything you can search online for the best price or buy it from someone selling on the internet and collect it fast. So I would say it'll be good to have some savings but not a requirement to have a lot of savings to have a baby. It's never really about the money anyway.
