Super Mum

This is a myth. I’d also like to share that it is not the fault of all doctors who don’t agree with a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After C-section) when you request for one. Some doctors are not comfortable with it because they have no experience in the area and rather than risk the lives of the mother and the patient, they err on the side of caution and safety. Of course some may not want to drive their patient to another doctor because they’ll lose business so they might agree initially and then mention other needs for a c-section. The important thing is that being empowered means arming yourself with knowledge and information. Ask the doctor the right questions like what is his/her VBAC rate and how comfortable is he/she with VBACs? What’s the procedure when proceeding with a VBAC with them and so on. Birth, as with any other life changing event is hard work. You need to put in the time to read up and find out more.
