Do you have any tips on how to spice up (literally and figuratively) a classic Menudo recipe?

Adding color and texture to the dish is one way of bringing menudo to the next level, especially if you have kids around. This is by putting in some reds (hotdogs), greens (green peas), and even blacks (raisins). As an alternative to raisins, you can add pineapple bits. Tried and tested this with my 5-yr old picky eater and he ate with a happy face. You can watch this pagr from Panlasang Pinoy for the rest of the ingredients: http://panlasangpinoy.com/2014/04/06/menudo-with-raisins-and-green-peas/

They say mixing all-purpose cream gives a twist on any ordinary recipe. I think this can be considered, especially if your kids love the creamy kind of ulam. It can make an ordinary menudo more palatable for kiddos.
