Do you get annoyed when non parents colleague asked how many days of ML, childcare leave & AL you left.. and its so wonderful to be able to have so many days of leaves... Did they not know that while we are taking these leaves, we are actually attending to our LO. may it be a vaccination or it could be closure of sch, etc. It might be more demanding than normal work days. i just dislike it when people thought that I'm having a relax day off when im on ML or AL.. :( I took mostly on Fridays because if its vaccination at least i can monitor over the wkend for fever. rather than taking additional day off if vaccination falls frm mon-thurs. i get tired of explaining. i just smiled when i receive such shallow remarks...

Sigh.. there are just people out there who are not aware of the challenges of bringing up a child.. and that such leave exists because there is a need for it. I would say just smile it off and not let them affect you. There's only so much explaining you can do. For some people (sad to say), your explanation will be deemed as you trying to justify your leave.. so.. just smile it off. I would say, explain to the people who really matter (such as your immediate colleagues and bosses) if they seemed to have that impression. For everyone else who think that way, just have to wait till they get their turn to understand.
