Breastfeeding

Did your 2 month kick a lot when you latch him? Mine kicks all the time for the first 10 mins before he calms down. Anyone know why?

Few possible reasons that I experienced.. 1. Flow rate is too fast during the let down, so he tries to pull away when the milk floods his mouth. Solution: unlatch and collect the milk that’s spraying out first till the flow rate has slowed down, then relatch 2. Baby has colic kind of pain, and feeding makes the pain worse for a while. Solution: give colic drops before latching on 3. Baby was too hungry, and I latched on too late, so baby’s hangry and needs time to fill his tummy before settling down. Solution: pay attention to hunger cues to avoid this. There might be other reasons as well, but hope these help!
