Did a scan but could not see the flickering. Is it too early ? Had some spotting when I woke up this morning.

I had an abdominal scan at 6w2d and cannot see fetal pole or heartbeat. But when I went back at 7w2d for a vaginal scan can see fetal pole and heartbeat at 158bpm
