High BP reasons during Week 38

Dear readers please help with the information about the reasons and consequences of high BP during 38 week. We visited our gyne yesterday, she suggested some tablets for BP however it is not working. I want to know the reasons and consequences as she never complained about it earlier.

High bp can be dangerous for mummy n baby. I had high bp in wk 35 n protein in my urine, diagnosed with severe pre eclampsia and had to deliver on my 36th wk.. 2nd baby i had high bp wayy frm the start so was put on medications n was able to control it..
