Durian contains an array of nutrients like iron, zinc, riboflavin, calcium, fibre etc. In Thailand it is believed that eating durians during confinement period will strengthen the body. Some believe that despite durians' heatiness, you can still eat them by drinking cooling herbal drinks, coconut water or saltwater to counteract the "heaty" aspects. That being said, always check with your doctor if it's okay to eat durians during your confinement.
