Can anyone recommend good milk bottle for little one? Currently using avent but recently baby not drinking much not sure if its teats issue or she's teething. Was thinking if I should change to another brand. (baby is 4 month plus) Any advice?

Hi Camellia, do check if the teat size is too small for the baby as baby might get impatient when suckle through slow flow. You may try teat that is one size bigger. For 4 months old baby, it could be due to colic and makes tummy discomfort to take in milk. You can try to massage baby's tummy to relief the pain and discomfort. Example of massage can be found on youtube, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?hl=en-GB&v=A1kQ-7gREcM&gl=SG If you are considering new brand of bottles, Pigeon Wide-Neck Nursing Bottle – PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) is very good as the teat is softer and reduce colic. You can read up more information from http://www.pigeon.com.sg/product_uri/bottle-feeding/glass/160ml5oz-nursing-bottle-ppsu/

My baby also had reduced appetite when she was 4 months old and no signs of fussiness. I assumed that she was teething and didn't do anything about it. She was using premie teats, changed them to level 1 but spit the milk out. She was always distracted and wanted to look here and there. Until now she's still drinking little. Her appetite remained at what it was at 4 months but with some solids now as she just turned 6 months old. Surprisingly her weight gain has been smooth and I always believe that she will drink when she's hungry. If you're patient enough you can feed milk using a feeding cup or spoon. My baby thinks that it's fun and she's very happy when I do that. Haha.

Like diapers, bottles are trial and error. There are so many brands in the market and what might work for one baby might not work for yours. That said, Pigeon (very soft teats), MAM (anti-colic) and Dr Brown (anti-colic but has a lot of parts to wash) are very popular brands. I rotated Pigeon, Avent, Tommee Tippee, MAM for my baby and she ended up having bottle confusion and has been rejecting all bottles. Yes, decreased appetite is a teething symptom. Do check out this link to see if your baby has more teething symptoms before you confirm it. http://sg.theasianparent.com/be-prepared-for-babys-teething-symptoms/
